Transporting an entire home (be it assembled or not) is a difficult proposition, although perhaps just as difficult as the transport of the materials required for traditional construction. Be that as it may, tonight we have to report the unfortunate news of the death of a North Carolina man as a result of the transport of a prefabricated home that was not properly secured to a trailer.
We usually limit our coverage to modernist, high tech, shiny prefab homes, but the type of home being transported in this incident is unclear (nor is it relevant). This event could easily have happened to a driver of such a shiny, modern, prefab home. It seems as though it is in the interest of all of those deeply concerned about the recent development of such a cool housing product that we take all precautions in the transport of these wonderful new homes.
